I am Sponsorship Co-Chairs of the The 2013 IEEE/ACM International Conference on Advances in Social Networks Analysis and Mining, Niagara Falls, Canada, August 25-28, 2013
The international conference on Advances in Social Network Analysis and Mining (ASONAM 2013) will primarily provide an interdisciplinary venue that will bring together practitioners and researchers from a variety of SNAM fields to promote collaborations and exchange of ideas and practices. ASONAM 2013 is intended to address important aspects with a specific focus on the emerging trends and industry needs associated with social networking analysis and mining. The conference solicits experimental and theoretical works on social network analysis and mining along with their application to real life situations.
FOSINT-SI is supported by TUBITAK on behalf of 2223-Support Programme for National Scientific Activities
I am the Co-Chair of FOSINT-SI 2012 (International Symposium on Foundation of Open Source Intelligence and Security Informatics) Symposium. We invite research submissions on all topics related to the foundations of open source intelligence and security informatics.
Terrorist and criminals are threatening the society more than ever before. There groups are benefiting from the advance technology. They communicate easier and form global communities that are hard to track. Fortunately the social media, event logs, phone call logs, web logs, etc, constitute a rich source for knowledge discovery. There is a serious need for powerful techniques and tools capable of achieving the ultimate goal of early warning to help in defeating the source of threat. Motivating by this need which has high social impact, the research related to open source intelligence and security informatics is gaining popularity in the academia, industry and government institutes. The three communities are working closely to develop new techniques and technologies. Thus, the aim of the FOSINT-SI symposium is to provide a unique international forum for researchers, professionals, and industrial practitioners to socialize, seek collaboration, share and exchange their data, knowledge, and expertise.
I am also PC Member of SNSI 2012 : Studies in Mining Social Networks and Security Informatics by Springer Verlag

Recent studies in social networks and security informatics gained attraction from the industry and academia. Advances in information technologhy rendered the use of almost every kind of data such as web, health, social networking sites, bibliographic data, political, homeland-related data as well as any other types of data intrinsically having the network structure. The common feature of the data is that it can be well represented with graph structure and can be mined to accomplish given tasks by using data mining techniques including artificial intelligence, machine learning, statistics, and stochastic methods.
